James N. Lane
Chairman of the Board

Jim has an extensive and distinguished career in private equity. He was chairman and CEO of SG Capital Partners and head of Merchant Banking for SG in the Americas. SG Capital Partners was the General Partner of $800 million in private equity funds that were affiliated with SG Cowen Securities and Société Generale, one of France’s largest banking institutions.

Prior to establishing SG Capital Partners, Jim’s career spanned nearly twenty years at Goldman Sachs, & Co. where he was a general partner, founding member and co-head of the highly successful Principal Investment Area, which invested and managed over $2.5 billion of private equity investments, including leveraged buyouts and venture capital.

He has a B.A. from Wheaton College and an M.B.A. from Columbia University. He serves on several charitable boards including The Trinity Forum, Wilberforce Forum (Prison Fellowship Ministries), The Yale Center for Faith and Culture (Yale Divinity School) and the New Canaan Society.
